Dreamscape Art Contest 2021 Terms & Conditions
Dreamscape Art Contest (the “Contest") organised by Le Art Shop (the “Organiser”), is open to entrants (the “Entrant”) who are above 18-year-old, Malaysian citizens and/or foreign citizens residing in Malaysia during the Contest period.
The Contest shall open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 12 April 2021 and shall close at 11:59 p.m. Malaysian Time on Monday, 10 May, 2021 (the “closing date"). Entries are complete when Entrant's artwork has been successfully uploaded, and confirmed by the Organizer via email.
Entries received after the closing date shall not be considered for entry under any circumstances. The Organiser reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to extend the closing date of the contest for a reasonable period of time and where so extended the date upon which the Organiser decides to be the subsequent closing date shall be the closing date for the purposes of these terms and conditions.
Winners will be announced on 24 May 2021.
This category is open to experienced professionals with a portfolio of work, and have shown your works in solo or group exhibitions (excluding school graduation shows), represented by a gallery or achieved recognition through art awards.
This category is open to anyone who paints for pleasure, have not shown your paintings in any shows or exhibitions, or represented by a gallery.
Entrants may enter their artwork strictly in one of the two categories only.
Grand Prize: RM600 Le Art Shop cash card + Etchr Lab merchandise
1st Runner Up: RM500 Le Art Shop cash card + Etchr Lab merchandise
Grand Prize: RM400 Le Art Shop cash card + Etchr Lab merchandise
1st Runner Up: RM300 Le Art Shop cash card + Etchr Lab merchandise
Consolation prizes are open to both categories for winning.
6 consolation prizes: RM80 Le Art Shop cash card + Etchr Lab merchandise, each.
The Grand Prize and 1st Runner Up winners from both categories will be featured in a live interview by The Artsy Craftsy.
Subject to availability and best effort of the Organiser, all winners will be featured in write ups by local arts & culture platforms, and further news and/or editorial coverage in relation to the Contest.
All Entrants stand a chance to be part of a Virtual Showcase in July 2021. Date will be announced in due time and is subject to change.
The winners must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in the official rules. No entrant can win more than one prize. No substitutions or transfers of prizes are permitted by winners.
The Organiser reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, in its sole discretion. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee. No further requests on prizes will be entertained and the Organiser has the sole and final decision.
HOW TO ENTER
All entries are FREE and no purchase necessary to enter.
Go to the submission page, complete and submit the entry form. Follow the instructions provided to upload your artwork.
- Ensure image is clear and sharp.
- Image must be between 150-300 dpi.
- File size limited to 2MB per image.
- Rename the file with Entrant’s name, artwork title, and year produced. I.e., yourname_artworktitle_year
- Only jpg and png format will be accepted
You may submit a maximum of three (3) paintings, in three (3) different submission forms, of the same category. Each submission form only accept 1 artwork submission.
Submissions by methods other than those stipulated in these Terms & Conditions will not be accepted (no physical submission to the Organiser via hand delivery or mail). If such items are mailed or dropped off, they will not count as valid entries and will be considered abandoned property.
ART SUBMISSION CRITERIA
The Contest accept submitted artworks which are 2-dimensional in painting or drawing.
- Mixed media
- Pen and ink
- Ball point pen
- Coloured pencils
The Contest DOES NOT accept:
- Digital art
- Clay art
Each entry must be the original work of the Entrant, and Entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright of such entry.
The Organiser reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry it deems to be offensive, inappropriate, derogatory, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous, libellous, or that is otherwise not in compliance with the terms of these official contest rules. In addition, all entries must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
Entrant must have obtained express written consent to submit any entry that contains or features persons other than Entrant, or third-party elements not owned by entrant and, if requested to do so, Entrant must produce such written consent from appropriate parties in a form and manner acceptable to the Organiser.
All entries must not contain material that violates or infringe another's rights, including, but not limited to, privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement.
The Judges shall be appointed by the Organiser in such number and of such qualification as it sees fit at its sole discretion.
Artwork will be evaluated and assign a score to each entrant's artwork based on interpretation of the theme, creativity, composition and professional quality & application of materials.
The Judges’ decision shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into. All works will be judged anonymously and there will be no segregation by medium, genre or style.
Winners will be notified via the email address provided on the submission. If the winner does not respond within five (5) calendar days or if communication via email is otherwise unsuccessful, an alternate winner will be selected.
USE OF ENTRY
By submitting an entry, Entrant grants the Organiser and its designees the irrevocable right and permission or consent, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide perpetual license to use the entry and his/her name, city and state of residence for use on the Organiser’s website, social media channels or printed marketing materials without further compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law. In addition, each winner grants to the Organiser and its designees an irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide perpetual license to use and distribute the entry (as submitted, or as cropped by the Organiser), and his/her name, city, and state of residence in any and all media now or hereafter known for purposes of promotion of the Contest and other Organiser’s contests and/or for purposes of advertising and promoting the Organiser and, except as otherwise stated herein, without further compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law. The Entrant waives any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, film, written copy, or audio tape taken by the Organiser or the person or entity designated by it.
The Entrant has read the consent and release, understands it, and intends it to be a binding instrument.
Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for late, lost, garbled, damaged, incomplete, delayed, undelivered, or misdirected entries or photographs, or for computer, technical, printing, typographical, human or other errors relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, inability to access any website associated with the Contest, errors which may occur in the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. If for any reason, the Contest (or any portion thereof) is not capable of running as planned, including infection by tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, the Organiser reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and if terminated, as its discretion, determine winners from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to time of such action using judging procedure described above.
By participating in the Contest, Entrant fully and unconditionally agrees:
- to be bound by the terms of these Official Contest Rules and the decision of the Organiser and judges, which are final and binding in all respects, and
- to indemnify, defend and hold the Organiser, sponsors and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective directors, officers, employees and agents of the foregoing (collectively, the "Released Parties"), harmless against any and all claims and liability arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of or in connection with participation in the Contest, acceptance and use of any prize or Released Parties' use of any of the rights granted herein. The Organiser may disqualify (and void all associated entries) anyone from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that such person is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, fraud, misrepresentation, deception or other unfair practices, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or Organiser’s representatives or who is otherwise not in compliance with the terms of these Official Contest Rules.
